Edgar Rothermich - on iTunes and Amazon

Most recording artists are specialized and known for one specific music style but in the film music business it is quite the opposite. As a film composer now for over 20 years I composed virtually all different music styles known to mankind. That freedom of not being type casted was the original idea to start my solo projects.

"Why not Electronica" is the first album of a series where each album has its own music style instead of releasing a typical film composer Show Reel album with different styles for each track.

All the albums released in that series start with "Why Not ...." as the album title which means "why should I restrict myself to one music style, why not this style or why not that style".

All the album covers are also unique with an old family photo depicting a music scene showing the music activities in the old times before iTunes and iPods. In each picture you can see my late Dad in his early years making music - this is an homage to him.

This previously unreleased album was produced in 1991/1992 by Christopher Franke and was planned as the first solo album by Edgar Rothermich.  Now 20 years later, it's finally seeing the light of day as one of the few albums that the former Tangerine Dream member  worked on as a producer. Ocean Park marked the beginning of a successful musical collaboration between Christopher Franke and Edgar Rothermich.

12 original piano tracks beyond New Age. Beautiful romantic melodies that carry you away, take you on an enchanted journey and let you forget everything.

Just listen and enjoy the music. The tracks combine energy and melody woven into an interesting soundscape. Call it techno, dance, house, electronica .... I call it music

12 dance oriented electronica tracks with dense sequence patterns and plenty of melodic hooks.
